Randy is a 1970 honors graduate of Fork Union Military Academy, Fork Union, VA. He obtained his BS in Marketing from Concord University, Athens, WV in 1974. Randy began his insurance career in 1975 with Flat Top Insurance Agency in Bluefield, WV. After attending Commercial Union Insurance Company’s Agent’s Training Program in Boston, MA, in 1976, he returned to Flat Top to specialize in Liability insurance and other products for the Coal industry in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Tennessee.

He moved to Charleston, WV in 1977 to join Marsh, USA, and specialized in Medical Professional Liability for Hospitals, and commercial business insurance. He later joined Patterson Bell & Crane, Inc. in 1980, and moved to Carson Insurance Agency, Inc, in 1988, as their Commercial Department Manager. Randy joined Mountain State Insurance Agency in 2007 as an Account Executive.

Randy has obtained the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor by the Society of Certified Insurance Counselors.

He currently specializes in Medical Professional Liability Insurance for Physicians, and a broad range of commercial insurance products for various businesses.

Randy is a self proclaimed Golf and Sports junkie. He, and his wife Tammy, both enjoy the blessing of two daughters Amanda, 23, and Sara, 19.

Randy enjoys working with people to solve their insurance issues.
